GREEN

We are reducing waste by hiring "thinking-GREEN" in the office! These are the steps we're taking to help save energy, natural resources and environmental conditions:
- Our photocopiers and printers are set to print on both sides by default.
- We always make computer files as oppose to paper files a priority. This reduces the amount of printing we do in-house plus allows us to stay more organized. By working through electronic files we are saving on floor and file space and retrieving our documents faster and more efficiently.
- The staff at Alendel makes a conscience effort to set aside paper which was only printed on one side to reuse for scratch pads.
- We participate in toner recycling which helps to effectively solve the problem of dumping non-biodegradable plastics on landfills and waterways in Canada.
- In our lunchroom we recycle glass, plastic, metal cans, white paper, and mixed paper and organics.

Packaging is one of the biggest environmental issues facing us today, with the majority of plastic packaging taking up to 3,000 years to break down!
- We use biodegradable bags, they do a world of good and break down in a few years!
- Our warehouse reuses and recycles wooden pallets, boxes and paper cores.
- Our warehouse uses Energy Efficient lighting that not only saves energy but improves safety and productivity.
